|| BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANISED BY NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS) WING OF ISLAMIA COLLEGE OF SCIENCE & COMMERCE SRINAGAR KASHMIR & SHERI-I-KASHMIR INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, SOURA, SRINAGAR.
The NSS Units of Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar organized one day “Blood Donation Camp” in collaboration with Department of Transfusion Medicine Sheri-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura Srinagar on 30th of October, 2017. The inaugural session began at 10:30 am under the Chairmanship of Prof.(Dr.) Muzaffar Ahmad Khan, Principal of the College. In the welcome address Prof.(Dr.) Muzaffar Ahmad Khan appreciated the team of doctors and allied staff members headed by Dr. Arshid and Dr. Supinder Kour, Blood Transfusion & Immuno-Heamatology, SKIMS for their timely cooperation and for rendering their duties towards this noble cause. The Principal of the College emphasized on the significance of such events conducted under the umbrella of NSS Units of the College throughout the session. The Principal also talked about the importance of voluntary blood donation which can save precious lives at the time of crisis which we are passing through, to which department of Transfusion medicine SKIMS is rising upto.. Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Khan stressed upon the students to actively participate in such activities and donate blood enthusiastically. Further, he appreciated the role of ex-NSS Officers Dr. Sayeed A Untoo, Prof. Uheeda Shah & Dr. M. Amin for taking NSS Units to the new heights.
Prof. Sajad Sarvar, NSS Officer of the College formally welcomed the team of doctors from the Sheri-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, Srinagar. He highlighted the importance of blood donation as a noble cause. Further, he voluntarily came forward to become the first donor of the day.
Prof. Rehana Bhat, NSS Officer divulged about the series of activities carried within and outside the College Campus by the NSS Units throughout the session.
Prof. Mudassir Makhdoomi, NSS Officer of the College modulated the whole event of the day besides expressing his view point about blood donation. He guided the students and volunteers during the camp for the smooth conduct of camp. Prof. Abdul Majid, Staff Secretary of the College in his address emphasized the need of blood donations in the changing scenario
Immediately after the inaugural function, blood donation camp was organized in the College Hostel with over-whelming response from the volunteers. More than 60 points were donated by the NSS volunteers besides teaching and non-teaching fraternity.

|| Blood donation and detection camp- Blood donation camp was conducted with the support of blood bank General Hospital Thalassery and Blood group detection was conducted with the help of Micro lab,Kallikkandy.The programme was inaugurated by College Principal. He highlighted the importance of blood donation to a needy person. He also appreciated the efforts taken by the NSS Unit to conduct such social services regularly. Dr. Karthik, Blood Bank Officer, General Hospital Pasighat spoke about the benefits of blood donation and detailed information on blood. A total of 60 students and staff members donated blood, Student coordinators and NSS volunteers worked diligently, making the event a success.
