Dr Praveen Purohit 20-10-2008 Engineering College Bikaner Karni Industrial Area Pugal Road,Bikaner (Rajasthan) ECB NSS unit has organised a blood donation camp on 15 october 2008 at Engineering College Bikaner in association with PBM Hospital,Bikaner (Govt) and a total of 111 volunteers had donated blood .This was the fourth consecutive camp organised by our nss unit since 2005.The camp was inaugurated by Principal Prof M.P.Poonia .Certificate of appreciation were then distributed to the volunteers.
Dr. U V Khadke 05-10-2008 Department of Physics, Gogte Institute of Technology, Udyambag, Belgaum Karnataka The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belgaum organized “Anti-Global warming week” from 19th – 23rd Sept 2008 at GIT. The purpose of the event is to create awareness among the students and the society about the global warming. During the week various activities were undertaken. The event was inaugurated on 19th Sept 2008. Shri Narendra S Jain was the chief guest and the speaker, Dr. D H Rao, Principal of GIT presided over the function. Shri Narendra S Jain in his presentation mentioned the reasons and the sources for the global warming such as increase in Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide, Refrigerants, Perfluro-carbons and electrical circuit breakers and change in rainfall patterns from which each one on the earth are getting affected. He also mentioned the national and international global actions to prevent the global warming. The solution to prevent the global warming is to get the awareness and act upon it from now onwards. He Stressed upon the limited usage of vehicles, electricity, water etc, only when it is necessary. Dr. D H Rao Principal in his presidential remarks mentioned that the NSS unit of GIT is always keen in taking such activities to create awareness among the students and the society. Dr. U V Khadke, NSS program officer, and Shri P V Kadagadkai, Physical Education Director, were present on the dais. About 250 students and nearly 50 staff members were attended the inaugural function. Mr Koustubh Badkundri an NSS volunteer proposed vote of thanks and Miss Shweta Mally & Sneha putani were the master of ceremony. On the 2nd day, Plastic free zone was observed and quiz program on the theme “global warming” for the students was conducted. Nearly 65 students took part in the quiz. 3rd day, tree plantation and a vehicle free zone was observed in the campus. Shri visvanath Angadi, District Principal judge, Shri C M Joshi Principal civil judge, Shri S M Kulkarni Chairman, Karnataka Law Society, Shri S G Punekar, Chariman, Governing council GIT, Dr. D H Rao Principal and Dr. U V Khadke NSS program officer were present on the occasion. To observe vehicle free zone, many professors and the other supporting staff came on bicycle where as many were come by walk. Not a single vehicle is allowed in the campus. Cycle riders were welcomed to enter in the campus. 4th day Best of waste & the creativity on paper submitted by the students were exhibited and attracted many people towards the awareness of global warming. Each day a specific color dress code was assigned to motivate & involve the students in the event. The week was concluded with the valedictory function. 5th day, Rangoli competition was conducted for the students in the campus on the same theme. Nearly 32 girl students were took part. The gigantic event was concluded with the valedictory function held on 23rd Sept 2008. Shri Satish R Bhat, Sr. Manager, Tata power plant Company Belgaum was the chief guest and the speaker, Shri S G Punekar, Governing Council chairman GIT presided over the function. Dr. D H Rao welcomes & addresses the gathering. The chief guest presented a talk on Global warming and the measures taken by the Tata group to control the global warming. Shri S g Punekar in his presidential remarks congratulated the NSS team for taking the event in the campus for creating awarness about the great threat “Global warming”. Dr. U V Khadke, NSS program officer introduced the Guest and Prof. S K Ambekar proposed vote of thanks. About 300 students and nearly 150 staff members were witnessed the valedictory function. Miss Archana and Bhakti Khot were the master of ceremony. Nearly 50 NSS volunteers of different branches were involved in the organization of the event.

S Venkatakrishnakumar 29-09-2008 NSS PO PSG College of Arts and Science Civil Aerodrome post Coimbatore 641014 24th september NSS Day was celebrated with the following events for 500 freshers a special orientation program on NSS moto and objectives were given in morning The session handled by senior NSS POs an unique Personality Development program with special thrust on soft skills for selected 50 NSS final year undergraduate volunteers were given by hiring a professional trainer for two days for civil service aspirance an interactive interface program arranged .It was conducted by a two time mains cleared Dr.P.Kanagaraj Reader Department of Political Science Government Arts College Coimbatore on 25th september a Blood Grouping campaign was conducted for first year undergraduate students. There were 688 students came to know their blood group. eye examination program was conducted for 751 first year undergraduate students. on 27th september a trekking program was organised to reach a 850m mountain range was scaled up. All the plastic bags and bottles were collected for safe disposal on the end route to the peak from the down hill .Six tribal hamlets were visited and a survey was conducted to know their status of improvement after availing various government welfare schemes. on 20th september there were about 129 NSS volunteers engaged in a door to door campaign to note down child labour engaged in domestic, industries and institutions.

CAMP WAS INAUGURATED BY MR. B. PURUSHARTHA DEPUTY COMMISSIONER ROPAR. MRS. KAVITA SINGH CHAIRPERSON DIST. RED CROSS SOCIETY WAS GUEST OF HONOUR.COLLEGE PRINCIPAL SMT. PARMJIT PASRICHA PRAISED THE VOLUNTEER DONORS

Conducted 2 day leadership training camp for the Volunteer secretaries of NSS Technical cell under Directorate of Technical Education Kerala on 20th And 21st of September 2008

Dr.M.K.Madhusoodanan 05-09-2008 Programme Officer NAM College kallikkandy PO Thuvakkunnu Kannur District , Kerala 50 units of blood have been donated to the Blood bank Tellicherry Kannur Disrtict on 23-07 2008 . It is the record collection of the blood bank in a day.
