The NSS Uinit -2 of Govt. First Greadew College Chickballapur organised TREKKING CUM SEEDLING CAMP AT SKANDAGIRI on 20-08-2011.
Around 250 volunteers took part in the camp . The Principal of the college Prof. BV. Krishnappa inaugurated the camp. The principal of Govt. pre university College Sri K.N. Sampath Kumar was the Chief Guest for the Inauguration of Trekking. Sri Anand Gumpumara of Parisara Rakshana Vedike trained the volunteers regarding the sowing of the seeds in the forest. Sri Sri Sri MariyappaDas of Sri Omakr Jyothi Ashramn inaugurated the seedling programme. 50 thousand seeds with more than 20 varities of the seeds have been sown in the hill of Skandagiri.
The local Govt. pre University college Students headed by Shivamurthy, the NSS Programme Officer, also joined hands in this programme.
Sri Govind Bhatt, Coordinator of Nehru yuva kendra addressed the participants while distributing the certificates. The Programme Officer Prof. B.R. VenkataRamu monitered the the day long camp. |

Our NSS Unit has initiated the promotion of Organic farming. We have planted around 60 plantain siblings as the first step on 14.8.2011. Our NSS volunteers actively participated in this programme. This farm will be maintained by NSS Unit of our college. |

On the day of August 7, NSS volunteers did plantation at a village called Senamanaikkanpalayam
near Atthipalayam.This was our first camp in the current academic year (2011-12).Over a 90 samplings
are planted in and around the village. And also villagers supported a lot to the volunteers. |

. Mixed tree plantation was guided by RFO Mr. Kundurwar and his team including Mr.Peharkar, Rathod ,Gaikwad.They had a discussion about the necessity and importance of plants with the volunteers.
. Prof. Wayal, Kamble Sir and Uplanchewar Sir took special efforts for the event on the occassion of the 65th Independence Day. |
