Hamirpur Himachal Pradesh CELEBRATION OF VOLUNTARILY BLOOD DONATION DAY: NSS unit celebrated voluntarily blood donation day on 1st October 2015 at Bahanwin village by organizing blood donation camp in the building of Govt. Primary School. Volunteers made all the arrangement for the successful organization of the camp. Volunteers carried out a rally from Bahanwin to Kalyal Village inviting people to donate blood for saving the lives of needy persons. A team of experts headed by Dr. Ruchi Sharma reached at the venue of the camp at 11 AM. Doctor Ruchi Sharma highlighted the importance of donating blood in such camps. The clarified the doubts of the gathering at the venue. The process of blood donation was started at 12.30 PM. Total 32 person registered themselves for donating blood. But out of 32 12 were rejected in medical test. NSS Programme officer Nardev Singh like the previous year was the first person who donated the blood to encourage the others. Four staff Members and 16 villagers were donated blood in the camp. NSS unit provide a balanced diet to the blood donors on this occasion. 2 CELEBRATION OF GANDHI JAYANTI: “A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in 2019.” Said Shri Narender Modi as he launched the Swachh Bharat Mission at Raj Path in New Delhi on 2nd October 2014. Keeping in view the massage of Hon’ble Prime Minister our NSS unit decided to start many programmes in the region to motivate the youth and villagers about the importance of sanitation and Swachhta. Speaking on this occasion programme officer said that it is very special occasion for the country that 2nd October declared as “Vishaw Ahinsa Diwas” by the United Nation. He said that in the coming days 10 to 20 dust bins will be placed in the Bazaar and village. New campaign will be started to motivate villagers to putt the waste in the dust bins 3 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY: The NSS unit of our school celebrated the world mental health day under the theme “Dignity in mental health" for the year 2015. The overall objective of the celebrating the world mental health day is to raise the awareness about mental health issues among the society and to mobiles efforts in support of mental health said the NSS programme officer. Thousands of people with mental health condition were discriminated against, stigmatized and marginalized in the society. Poor quality care due to lack qualified health professional and dilapidated facilities leads to further violation. On this special occasion NSS volunteers were asked to prepare the list of villagers with mental health problem. They are further asked to talk with these villagers regularly and try to understand their emotions. Few such villagers were invited on this occasion and they were encouraged to participate in all the social activity. 4. INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY: NSS volunteers were gathered in campus of the school at 8 am on 17th Oct. 2015 to celebrate the international day eradication of poverty. SMC president and the members of the panchayat were invited. Speaking on this occasion president of School management committee said that 17th Oct. presents an opportunity to acknowledge the effort and struggle of people living in poverty, a chance for them to make their concern heard and a moment to recognize that poor people are the first one to fight against poverty. Principal Sr. Rajesh Sharma said that October 17th also reflect the willingness of people living in poverty to use their expertise to contribute to the eradication of poverty. A rally was also carried out against the poverty encouraging the people to come out with new hopes by doing some hardwork 5 ORGANIZATION OF EYES CAMP: One day eyes camp was organized by NSS unit on dated 24th Oct. 2015 at village Bahanwin. Preparation for the successful organization of the camp was started 15 days before the commencement of the camp. Registration for the patients were started on 10th October 2015. Near about 170 villagers registered themselves with eyes problems. A team of expert doctors reached at the venue of the camp at 10.30 am. Volunteers helped the doctors and other staff of District Zonal Hospital to place their instrument in the room where the camp was scheduled. Sh. navneet Thakur chairman of Chanakya group Inaugurated the camp. He blessed the volunteers for this noble action. He further said that organizing such camps in the rural areas and that too in the HARIJAN BASTI is a great asset for the people living below the puberty line. The eyes of the students with eyes problems of GPS Bahanwin and students from 6th to 12th classes were also checked during the camp. Free medicines were distributed to all the patients during the camp. 6 CELEBRATION OF UNO DAY United national day was celebrated by NSS unit with great enthusiasm on dated 24 Oct. 2015. Sh. Rajesh Sharma lect. Mathematics addressed the volunteers on this occasion about the objectives of the United nation. He further explain about the necessity of peace and harmony in the present scenario. Volunteers carried out a rally in Bahanwin and Kalyal village on this occasion. Volunteers under the supervision of NSS programme officer cleaned the bazaar and school campus with the help of other students of the school. They also cleaned and wash the water storage tanks in the school.

FOR THIS PROGRAM MANY LOCAL RESIDENTIAL PEOPLES HELPS US FOR THIS PROGRAM AND APPRECIATES US FOR PLANTATION. ONE NGO ALSO PROVIDE US 21 TREE GUARDS.
