|| NSS – TREE PLANTATION
The future will either be green or not exist at all. This truth lies at the heart of human kinds most pressing challenge, namely, to learn to live in harmony with mother earth.
Working towards this noble cause the NSS (National Service Scheme) of St. Aloysius Sr. Sec .School cantt., organized a plantation drive on under the able guidance of Principal, Fr. Sibi Joseph to sensitise students on the value of tree plantation. Saplings were planted by the students as well as the Principal and the staff of the school. The Principal addressed the students and encouraged them to conserve the environment and plant more trees for a green and clean environment. The programe was organized by NSS incharge, Dr. Manish Dubey.

|| The tree plantation drive on the college campus formally began on twenty eight July with a sapling of gulmohar planted by Retired police officer Shri Rampal Rana in the presence of college Principal Dr Kamdev Jha along with members of the staff and twenty volunteers. Fifty one saplings were planted subsequently in a time span of four hours.

|| NSS ITM University started planting different types of trees in the campus and in adopted village Sikroda. Everyone was encouraged to plant trees in homes, schools, colleges, near offices and contribute in making Gwalior city greener than ever before. NSS and ITM University will plant 4000 plants like Neem, Sessam, Amla, Saghun, Amrood, Anar, Banas, Nimboo, Amaltas, Arjun in ITM campus and ITM global school. 3000 plants were given by Zila Panchayat Gwalior and rest of the plants were provided by ITM University. It is to mention that ITM University plants every year flowering and fruit trees in the campus. The ITM University’s focus on sustainable development is also reflected in the choice of location and in the campus and community plan. The physical campus and its operations are minimizing the environmental footprint through plantation of trees, efficient use of water, electricity and other resources, and through materials reuse and recycling. Construction is performed with care to preserve the plants and trees. A signature feature of the campus is herbal garden, mango garden that has added beauty to the campus. For the next-five plan, the main focus of the University is to create native landscaping in newly constructed areas and near buildings with lush green gardens adorned with ornamental and medicinal plants that maintain the clean and healthy environment for the students and residents of the campus.

|| NSS unit of RITE, Bhubaneswar planted 45 number of trees inside and outside campus of RITE. Our Director Dr. S. S. Kanungo inaugurate tree plantation drive on July 22,2017. Total 60 NSS volunteers from both Boys Unit and Girls unit and 15 faculties were participated in tree plantation drive.

|| Seven volunteers from unit one under the guidance of Programme officer Manoj Kumar actively involved themselves in the fourth and final phase of the Harit kurukshetra campaign in association with the NGO Pratibadhha Prayas. 110 saplings were planted in the three hour plantation drive organized in the area adjacent to DC colony kailash Nagar Kurukshetra.Sh PP Bhojvaid Principal conservator forests Haryana was the guest for the occasion. The event was a well managed one.

|| In association with Environment day observation 320 saplings were planted in the campus and surroundings along with Thripragottur Panchayath members and kudumbasree. Saplings were provided by Forest Department Govt of Kerala.The programme was inaugurated by Panchayath president Sri.Katoor Muhammed.Principal KK Musthafa,Namshad KP,Mini mol VK Programme officer NAM College unit number 31 and 32,other College teachers also participated. The campaign started at 10 am in the morning and concluded at 1pm. The objective of this activity was to spread awareness of planting more and more trees to save the environment.
